Spanish 1 is intended to accelerate students' understanding of Spanish and the culture(s) of the people(s) who speak Spanish. It includes the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills for active and passive use of the language. Real-life tasks are used as the basis for developing conversational ability and to provide a focus of learning vocabulary and grammatical structure.
